It’s a “Shrove Tuesday” pancake breakfast, but not on Tuesday—instead, it’s on the Sunday before the start of the Lenten season.

The breakfast is Sunday, March 6 in the church undercroft from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tickets will be on sale at church on Feb. 27. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children.

The menu is all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage.

The Altar Guild has the following weeks available for placing flowers at the altar: March 13 and April 3 and 10. Please call the office at 412-664-9379 if you would be interested in placing flowers at the altar for one of these Sundays.

Church school is for grades K through 6. They meet every Sunday upstairs in the middle Sunday School room.

We have a staffed nursery. If you have need of the nursery, please see any of the ushers and they will direct you.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. Kenneth L. Price, Jr., will visit St. Stephen’s on March 13 for both the 8 and 10 a.m. services.

Dr. Price has served as provisional bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh since October 2009.

Bishop suffragan, or assistant bishop, in the Diocese of Southern Ohio since 1994, Dr. Price has taken as his primary ministry the Diocese of Pittsburgh until a new permanent bishop is elected and installed. He also serves as secretary of the Episcopal Church’s House of Bishops and was appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury to the Windsor Report Reception Committee.

Dr. Price was born in Charleston, W.Va. He is a graduate of the General Theological Seminary and Marshall University and was ordained deacon and priest in West Virginia in 1968 and bishop suffragan in Southern Ohio in 1994.

He and his wife, Mariann Prosser, currently divide their time between homes in Pittsburgh and Columbus, Ohio. They have two grown children.

At the vestry’s last meeting, Alex Foster and John Ochap were appointed co-junior wardens. Karen Slobodian remains senior warden and JoAnn Pratt remains treasurer; the secretary position remains vacant.

Current vestry members are Jay Ackerman, Ethel Balas, Jim Campbell, Alex Foster, Pat Greene, Don Menzies, George McGinnis, John Ochap, Karen Slobodian, Lani Temple and Frank Yesko.
