Our first shipment of more than 100 tote bags was delivered today to the Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project. It includes bags collected by St. Stephen’s parishioners and their families, as well as an entire case of bags donated by the Rev. Benjamin Wright.
St. Stephen’s is collecting gently used tote bags for the Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project. This is a grassroots effort to collect reusable tote bags for clients who use food pantries affiliated with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
The tote bags will help these food pantries reduce the expense of buying plastic bags, as well as keep those plastic bags from winding up in the trash.
We still need tote bags, backpacks, messenger bags, purses and any similar bags that are in good condition. There is a red plastic collection bin in the church office. Please bring it to the church weekdays during office hours, or Sunday mornings. Thank you!
