Christmas services

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and at 10 a.m. Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

There will be no 8 a.m. service on Christmas Day.

You don’t need to be a member of St. Stephen’s to attend. Everyone in the Mon Valley is welcome to join us for this celebration of the birth of Christ!

New bishops in Pittsburgh and Canterbury

Justin Welby will become The Archbishop of Canterbury and symbolic head of 85 million members of the Anglican Communion, including The Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh.

The announcement was made today in London, England. Rev. Welby, 56, will be enthroned in March 2013.

Meanwhile, if you were unable to attend the consecration of the Rev. Dorsey W.M. McConnell as the eighth Bishop of Pittsburgh, you may view the ceremony online.

Bishop McConnell is scheduled to visit St. Stephen’s early next year.

Finally, our outgoing provisional bishop, Right Rev. Kenneth Price, and his wife, Mariann, have returned to their home outside of Columbus, Ohio, after serving the Diocese of Pittsburgh for three years.

“Your warmth, your friendliness and your general acceptance of us was overwhelming,” Rev. Price says. “Although it was hard to say goodbye, this was tempered by the knowledge that you are now blessed to be in the hands of a gifted permanent bishop whom I came to have great respect for in our two months of working together.”

You can read the rest of his farewell message to Pittsburghers here.

Parish questionnaire

Please fill out your questionnaire! The questionnaire is designed to make sure St. Stephen’s has accurate information about all of our worshipers, and to see what areas we can improve!

If you don’t have a copy of the 2012 Parish Questionnaire, you can now download it.

You will need a PDF reader (such as Adobe) to view and print the document. Please drop it into your collection plate, leave it at the church office or mail it to St. Stephen’s, 220 Eighth Ave., McKeesport, PA 15132. Thank you!
