Why do we eat fish on Friday? Traditionally, some Christians have chosen to abstain from eating meat during Lent to remind themselves of Jesus’ 40-day fast in the desert.
To replace beef, chicken, pork, etc., which were all considered “luxuries,” fish was substituted during these fasts instead.
If you’re eating fish during Lent, you are invited to join us Fridays during Lent (including Good Friday) for a nutritious meal! Proceeds benefit church operations. Eat in or take out from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
